Rapper Emeka Akumefule, better known as Blaqbonez, has opened up about the noticeable changes in his appearance—and it has nothing to do with health concerns.
Responding to questions about his slimmer frame, Blaqbonez explained that his recent weight loss is simply the result of being away from Nigerian food. While traveling outside the country to work on his upcoming album, he found it difficult to eat regularly because nothing quite compares to the flavors he’s used to at home.
“I’ve been on the road for almost two months,” he said. “I barely ate because I just can’t get used to food that isn’t Nigerian. I’m doing it all for the album, though. Once I’m back, I’ll put the weight back on. No excuses.”
The rapper emphasized that his focus has been fully on delivering the best musical experience to his fans—even if that meant sacrificing comfort and routine.
In a different update, Bobrisky (Idris Okuneye Olanrewaju) shared his own perspective about living abroad. According to him, many things Nigerians stress over daily don’t hold the same weight outside the country.
In a recent Instagram post, he reflected on how relocating helped shift his mindset. “Living abroad made me realize how much peace matters,” he wrote. “Some of the things we fight over back home are really not that deep.”
Bobrisky added that he’s now more intentional about protecting his peace and steering clear of toxic energy, choosing calm over chaos wherever possible.
