Even Prince George is influenced by Kate Middleton’s wardrobe.
In a photo shared on Instagram Sunday by the royal blog From Berkshire to Buckingham, the 9-year-old was spotted on a festive family outing at Lapland UK with the Prince and Princess of Wales, Princess Charlotte, and their nanny — and it turns out the young prince was wearing one of his mother’s old winter hats.
According to Royal Fashion Police and Instagram account Solidmoonlight, George bundled up in a navy puffer jacket and the same pompom beanie Middleton, 40, wore for a series of snowy family photos in the French Alps back in 2016. Eisbär, the company that creates hats for the Austrian ski team, designed the navy style, which features a polar bear and snowflake pattern, and retailed for $60 at the time.

Along with his mother’s beanie, the second in line to the throne walked through the parking lot of the holiday attraction with his nanny, Maria Borrallo.
Prince William, 40, kept it casual in jeans and a similar style of Nike kicks, clutching a stuffed dog (perhaps for Prince Louis?) and wearing a green jacket and flat cap, while Princess Charlotte, 7, trailed behind in a look inspired by her mother.
The young royal was photographed hugging her own stuffed animal while wearing a mini version of Middleton’s brown Penelope Chilvers Tassel Boots ($375), which she chose for the family’s 2020 Christmas card. Meanwhile, the Princess of Wales followed behind in what appeared to be a Mackage Mai Wrap Coat ($950) and a turtleneck sweater, as well as her, trusted Blundstone Chelsea Boots ($230) and a hat with a furry pompom at the top.
George’s mommy-and-me hat moment comes after he and his family attended a carol concert at Westminster Abbey on December 15 as well as the traditional Christmas Day walk to church.
With his parents taking on more prominent roles following Queen Elizabeth’s death last September, royal fans can expect to see more of the young prince (and his adorable style) in 2023.
