Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has shared her perspective on marriage and infidelity, emphasizing that infidelity alone shouldn’t be a dealbreaker unless it’s accompanied by abuse. In a candid interview on her junior colleague Biola Adebayo’s YouTube show, Talk to B, Nwosu discussed her regrets about prioritizing her career over marriage.
Nwosu revealed that she once called off her wedding just two days before the ceremony due to physical abuse from her former partner. She explained that the abuse continued even while she was pregnant, leading her to end the relationship.
Reflecting on her decision, Nwosu said, “I had to choose between my career and marrying this man, and I chose my job. At one point, I regretted that decision, but now I’m thankful for the path I took.”
She added, “Infidelity is a serious issue, but it’s not always a reason to end a relationship. However, if you’re facing physical abuse, I strongly advise you to leave immediately. Once someone resorts to violence, it won’t stop.”
Nwosu’s openness highlights the importance of addressing abuse and the need for women to prioritize their safety in relationships.
