Luis Enrique, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, has expressed his disappointment regarding Kylian Mbappe’s transfer to Real Madrid, calling it “a pity.” This summer, after years of speculation, Mbappe finally made the move to the Spanish club, choosing to let his contract with PSG run out, which allowed him to leave as a free agent.
Despite facing some challenges in their relationship—such as Enrique occasionally benching the talented forward—he recently shared heartfelt sentiments about Mbappe in a documentary by Movistar. Enrique characterized Mbappe not only as an outstanding player but also as a remarkable person. He highlighted the young star’s warm and approachable nature, saying, “He is human, affectionate, and close.”
While he regrets Mbappe’s departure to Madrid, Enrique conveyed his best wishes for the forward’s future, hoping for continued success at his new club.
“In Kylian’s case, I met a wonderful player,” he said. “He is a person of exceptional character, which is rare to find at that level. What a pity he went to Madrid, especially for us at the time. But such is life and part of the game. I hope everything goes very well for him.”
