Serie A holders, runners-up, Italian Cup winners, and finalists to join the 2024 Italian Super Cup
The Lega Serie A Assembly changed the format of the local competition on Monday, allowing four clubs to compete in the 2024 Italian Super Cup (Supercoppa Italiana) in Saudi Arabia.
The president of Lega Serie A, Lorenzo Casini, has stated that the Super Cup will be held with a “four-team format” next year.
“The Lega Serie A Assembly, which met today in Milan with all 20 clubs present, accepted the offer to play four of the next six editions of the Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia,” according to a Serie A statement.
The Serie A champions, runners-up, and Italian Cup winners and finalists will compete in the Super Cup final four.

Since its inception in 1988, the Italian Super Cup has always been played between the holders of the same season’s Italian Serie A and Italian Cup.
The Italian Super Cups will be held in Saudi Arabia in 2024, 2025, 2028, and 2029.
The host countries for the Super Cups in 2026 and 2027 have yet to be determined.
The Italian Super Cup has previously been played in Libya, China, the United States, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, in addition to Italy.
Juventus holds the record with nine Super Cup victories.
Inter Milan are the defending champions, having defeated archrivals AC Milan 3-0 in Riyadh in January.
