Isaac Fayose, younger brother to ex-Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, has shared his thoughts on Atiku Abubakar’s recent departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), calling it a breath of fresh air for the party.
In a video posted on Instagram, Isaac didn’t hold back. He described Atiku’s exit as long overdue and expressed satisfaction that it finally happened. “I’ve wanted him suspended for years,” he said. “Now, he’s gone—for the third time in two decades. That’s not leadership, that’s desperation.”
Fayose mocked Atiku’s repeated exits and re-entries into the PDP, branding it a pattern that has become more disruptive than helpful. “It’s good for the party’s peace,” he added. “With him out of the way, the South can now move forward without unnecessary competition.”
He also urged Peter Obi, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential flag bearer, to consider returning to the PDP, and suggested the party should zone its 2027 ticket to the South. “Let someone from the South stand toe-to-toe with Tinubu,” he said. “It’s time for fresh energy and real opposition.”
Fayose ended with a tongue-in-cheek farewell: “Baba don finally go. We hope he stays gone this time.”
