Tiwa Savage has opened up about her fallout with Davido, shedding light on what really went down.
In a recent chat on The Breakfast Club, the singer revisited their clash from December 2023 and revealed how a simple moment online spiraled into something bigger.
According to her, the misunderstanding began after she posted an Instagram story featuring Sophia Momodu, Davido’s first baby mama. Tiwa explained that her bond with Sophia wasn’t about taking sides — their kids go to the same school and have grown up together, making the friendship a natural one.
She shared that Davido took the post the wrong way and felt she was aligning against him, which led to heated messages. Tiwa said some of those messages left her feeling unsafe, prompting her to file a petition with the police — not out of malice, but purely as a precaution.
Before it became public, Tiwa said she had tried to settle things quietly by reaching out to Davido’s family. Unfortunately, she got no response, and when the tension continued, she decided to take steps to protect herself.
Still, she insists there’s no bitterness on her part.
“I wasn’t choosing sides,” she explained. “Sophia is simply the mother of my son’s friend. Our kids have known each other since they were toddlers, and I’ve known David for years too. I just didn’t know there were issues between them.”
She added: “I haven’t spoken to him since, but I’ve got love for him. For me, the children’s well-being comes first — that’s what truly matters.”
