The actress and activist Jane Fonda, whose career dates back to the 1960s, said on Thursday that her cancer had been put into remission. In September, Fonda stated that she had been given a B-cell non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s diagnosis.
The 84-year-old “Grace and Frankie” star stated in a blog post titled “Best Birthday Present Ever” that her oncologist informed her last week that her cancer is in remission and she can stop receiving chemotherapy. Everyone who “prayed and sent good thoughts my way,” Fonda said, “is appreciated.”
Additionally, Fonda utilized the occasion to promote her environmental advocacy.
“I’m especially delighted because my last chemo session was harsh and lasted two weeks, making it difficult to do much of anything,” she added. “My first four chemo sessions were pretty simple for me, only a few days of being weary.” The effects vanished just as I arrived in Washington, D.C., for the inaugural Fire Drill Fridays rally in person.

Fonda was detained during a number of the 2019 Fire Drill Friday rallies, which take place on Fridays in Washington, D.C., and are intended to raise awareness of the climate problem.
The “Dirty Deal,” as Fonda dubbed Sen. Joe Manchin’s proposal to alter the government’s regulatory procedure for energy projects, was also endorsed by Fonda.
“This deal, called ‘permitting reform,’ seeks to fast track fossil fuel projects, does great harm to bedrock environmental protections, and restricts the public’s ability to have input,” she wrote. Essentially, it “throws marginalized communities, who are disproportionately burdened by fossil fuel pollution under the bus.”

When Fonda first revealed she had cancer, she noted that it was “a highly manageable illness” and pushed for improved access to healthcare.
Nearly every family in America has experienced cancer at some point, and far too many do not have access to the high-quality medical treatment I receive. This is wrong, she said.
In 2010, Fonda received a breast cancer diagnosis. Her spokesperson claimed that after the tumor was removed, she was “100% cancer free.”
