On Wednesday, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced he will not run for re-election as the leader of his party next month, marking the end of his term as prime minister.
Kishida stated, “To demonstrate that the LDP is committed to change, it’s essential for me to step down. I will not be participating in the upcoming presidential election for the party,” addressing reporters about the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
