Nollywood actor Gideon Okeke recently took to his Instagram story to express some strong opinions about his colleague Jim Iyke, sparking curiosity and conversation among fans.
In his post, Gideon accused Jim Iyke of lacking character despite his larger-than-life personality. Without giving specifics about what prompted his remarks, Gideon wrote:
“I’ve met some truly solid individuals, but I’ve also met some phony ones—like that Jim Iyke guy who tries to be a goldfish but has no sense of character.
“Small boy to me. Small boy.
“If only Jim Iyke could act, he would’ve been an actor. But nope, he’s just a phony dude.
“Fake accent, fake everything. Matter of fact? He’s a small boy to me.”
While Gideon’s post didn’t explain what led to this outburst, it certainly caught the attention of his followers.
In a separate post, Gideon shared a very different sentiment about another Nollywood colleague, Zubby Michael. He called Zubby the “biggest Nollywood star,” praising his talent and success.
This statement aligns with a previous debate from earlier this year on the reality show Ebuka Turns Up Africa. In the show, Zubby Michael and Timini Egbuson had a heated discussion about who the biggest actor in Africa is. While Timini argued his quality of work and box office records made him the standout, Zubby countered by emphasizing his wealth and overall success.
Gideon sided with Zubby, saying he could personally vouch for Zubby’s greatness and potential in the industry.
These comments have stirred reactions online, with fans speculating about the underlying issues behind Gideon’s remarks about Jim Iyke and applauding his endorsement of Zubby Michael.
