When Jenna Bush Hager attended an Elton John concert at the White House on Friday, she relived old memories while creating a goofy new one with her family thanks to a “gracious” gesture from President Joe Biden.
Bush Hager spoke about her visit to her childhood home with her husband Henry Chase Hager, their kids Mila Hager, 9, and Poppy Louise Hager, 7, and her mother Laura Bush on Monday night’s episode of The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
She claimed that when the family came, Biden greeted them at the entrance and met them there. They paused to take in some of the structure’s history as they made their way through the mansion to the South Lawn, where the performance was to be held.
“Bush Hager, 40, described the incident: “There was a picture of my mother hanging on the wall and he asked, ‘Can I get a picture?'” this is just lovely.”
She claimed, “I’m fairly certain that what I said was, ‘President Biden, my husband can take a picture. We weren’t really anticipating the president to accept it. However, they naturally smiled for the camera as they posed in front of Laura’s official White House photo.
The shot turned out about as well as one could expect from a 79-year-old holding an iPhone, which was the part Bush Hager and Fallon found hilarious.
Fallon laughed as he displayed the image to the crowd and noted how everyone was speaking while they were doing it, as well as how Biden had trouble framing the picture. “The portrait [is]far from being in the picture. Barely! Your mother’s arms are there.”
Despite the studio audience’s laughter at Biden’s photography skills, the president handed them a priceless memento that Bush Hager described as “quite generous.”
Fallon stated, “The president took this picture. You must frame this, I say.
