Giovanni Manna, the director of Napoli, has addressed recent rumors surrounding Victor Osimhen’s potential transfer in January. He clarified that no clubs have approached Napoli regarding the activation of the striker’s €75 million release clause.
Manna stated, “I’ve said it many times before: we have not received any inquiries. Victor is still under contract with Napoli and is currently playing for Galatasaray. Despite the speculation, nothing is moving forward.”
Since his loan move to Galatasaray, Osimhen has been in excellent form, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in just 13 appearances across all competitions. His performances have been pivotal in keeping Galatasaray at the top of the Turkish Super Lig, with a six-point lead after 14 matches.
Media reports have suggested that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Manchester United are both considering triggering Osimhen’s release clause in January. PSG, in particular, sees the 25-year-old as a key player to strengthen their attack under manager Luis Enrique.
Daniel Rioli, a journalist with RMC Sport, mentioned that PSG’s interest in Osimhen could affect the future of French forward Randal Kolo Muani, with RB Leipzig reportedly interested in him.
PSG had previously shown interest in Osimhen last summer, making a €100 million offer following his standout performances that helped Napoli win the Serie A title. At the time, they had considered him as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who moved to Real Madrid.
However, Manna emphasized that Napoli’s current focus is on other priorities. “We made significant investments in the summer, and if necessary, we are prepared to make further moves. Our main priority right now is our campaign. While we remain open to opportunities, this is not an immediate concern,” he explained.
