Takeoff’s family has requested that donations instead of flowers or gifts be donated to The Rocket Foundation, which funds initiatives that are preventing gun violence in communities while also saving lives.
On November 1, Takeoff, whose true name was Kirshnik Kari Ball, was shot and killed outside a bowling alley in Houston. His death is the subject of a police investigation, although no suspect has been identified.
Family and friends remembered him with a balloon release over the weekend in the wake of the tragedy.
