Kamala Harris Sends Support to Joe Biden Following Cancer Diagnosis
Kamala Harris has publicly extended heartfelt support to former President Joe Biden after news broke of his prostate cancer diagnosis.
The 81-year-old former president is facing an aggressive form of the illness, according to a statement released by his office. Doctors report that the cancer has spread to his bones, but it remains responsive to hormone therapy—a factor that offers some optimism in managing the condition.
Biden’s family is currently in close discussions with his medical team to determine the best course of treatment moving forward.
Vice President Harris took to 𝕏 to share a personal message of encouragement, speaking on behalf of herself and her husband, Doug Emhoff.
“We’re deeply saddened to hear about President Biden’s diagnosis,” Harris wrote. “Doug and I are holding him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family close in our hearts during this time.”
She went on to describe Biden as a fighter, expressing full faith in his ability to confront this new challenge with the strength and resolve that have long defined his public and personal life.
“I know Joe,” she added. “He’s always met life’s toughest moments with grit and grace—and I have no doubt he’ll do the same now.”
Harris ended her message with a wish for a full and fast recovery.
