In an unexpected move, Donald Trump has revealed plans to launch his own line of sneakers during his campaign trail. This historic announcement marks the first time a former president has ventured into the world of sneaker design.
Following the release of Vultures 1, a collaboration with Ty Dolla Sign, Kanye West, known for his complex relationship with the former POTUS, publicly endorsed Trump’s foray into the sneaker industry. Ye expressed his approval with a comment, “This made me smile,” on a post featuring Trump walking on stage to celebrate his sneaker release.
While Kanye West has previously supported the divisive figure, his backing has been relatively subdued in recent times. Notably, the “Good Life” artist ran for president in the 2020 election, with plans to repeat the attempt in 2024. However, he eventually withdrew from the race, as confirmed by his personal attorney Bruce Marks to Rolling Stone on Oct. 20.

West’s unconventional political journey began in 2020 when he ran under the self-created Birthday Party banner, entering the race too late to appear on the ballot in more than 12 states. Despite a large audience and self-funding of $9 million, West received only 60,000 votes in the election between Donald Trump and President Joe Biden.
The reaction to Kanye West’s endorsement of Trump’s fashion venture has been mixed among fans. Some express disappointment, stating that West consistently distances himself from his audience unless seeking sympathy. Others question the significance of Joe Biden’s actions, while some argue that West’s primary concern is his own ego.
