According to parent company Parlement Technologies, American rapper Kanye West, now known by the stage name Ye, has made a purchase offer for Parler, the social media platform favored by American conservatives.
Parler, a company based in Nashville, which has raised approximately $56 million to date, stated that it anticipates the deal to completion in the fourth quarter of 2022. It provided no deal value.
The agreement comes as Google and Apple Inc.’s app stores have reinstated Parler after it was taken down in the wake of the riots in the U.S. capitol in January 2021. Parler, which launched in 2018 and positioned itself as a free-speech space for those seeking an alternative to platforms like Twitter Inc.
