Kanye West credits Jonah Hill with changing his mind about Jews.
The embattled rapper returned to Instagram late Friday, revealing that he “likes Jewish people again” after seeing Hill in the 2012 film 21 Jump Street.
“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump Street made me like Jewish people again,” Ye wrote alongside a poster for the film, which stars Hill and Channing Tatum as undercover cops at a local high school.
The film appeared to have had a profound impact on him. “No one should take their rage against one or two people and turn it into hatred for millions of innocent people,” he told his 18 million followers.
“No Christian can be labeled antisemite because Jesus is Jewish,” West added. “Thank you so much, Jonah Hill. I adore you.”

After months of silence, this was West’s first Instagram post. He said he wanted “death con 3 on Jewish people” last year and posted an image of a swastika combined with the Star of David. His social media accounts were consequently locked and suspended. During an appearance on Alex Jones’ “Infowars,” he made more anti-Semitic remarks, praising Hitler and saying that Nazis did “good things.”
“The funny thing is, I can’t be anti-Semitic because Black people are also Jews,” Ye explained at the time. “You’ve played me and tried to blackball anyone who opposes your agenda.”
Adidas terminated its lucrative partnership with West in the aftermath of his hateful comments, costing him his billionaire status. Others who have cut ties with him include Gap, Balenciaga, and CAA.
