For the first time since falling on the floor almost two years ago, Keyontae Johnson is back playing collegiate basketball, and he immediately started doing his thing by scoring 13 points!
As a starter for the Wildcats on Monday against the Texas-Rio Grande Valley Vaqueros, Johnson—who transferred to Kansas State this August—helped the Wildcats win.
Johnson said about how emotional the victory was for him with the score of 93-59.
Johnson stated, “I’m feeling OK.
“Just keeping patient and thanking God every day for allowing me to come here and play again.”
“I was a little sad before the game, but I knew how it would play out, so I had to keep playing and just lay everything out for my team.”

As previously reported, on December 12, 2020, during the Gators-Florida State Seminoles game, the small forward collapsed onto the court.
The 23-year-old was taken to the hospital and placed into a medically induced coma while still in a critical but stable state.
He woke up three days afterward but never went back to the hardwood until this moment.
Legendary college basketball broadcaster Dick Vitale was excited for KJ and pleased to see him playing well once more.
Vitale noted on Twitter that despite his 13 points, “it was the BEST PERFORMANCE OF THE DAY that he is healthy & doing what he LOVES!”
KJ, welcome back!
