It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved Ghanaian Gospel artist Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, affectionately known as KODA.
His dear friend and fellow gospel musician Nii Okai confirmed the devastating news, stating, “KODA has transitioned to glory in the early hours of Sunday, April 21, 2024. Let’s come together in prayer for his family as we grapple with this loss.”
Though the details surrounding his passing are not officially disclosed, there are unconfirmed reports suggesting that he lost his battle with illness. He was 45 years old.
KODA was a prominent figure in Ghana’s gospel music scene, residing in Takoradi, located in the Western Region of Ghana.
Recognized for his significant contributions to contemporary gospel music in Ghana, KODA garnered praise and accolades throughout his career. He was deeply devoted to spreading the gospel through his music and played a pivotal role in shaping the industry through his production work.
His impressive body of work includes collaborations with renowned artists such as the late Danny Nettey, Pastor Joe Beechem, Nii Okai, Halal Afrika, Eugene Zuta, and many others, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and influential presence in Ghanaian gospel music.
