Newly signed Real Madrid forward, Kylian Mbappe, has expressed his hopes for a showdown with Germany in the Euro 2024 final. Mbappe, set to lead France in the European Championship from June 14 to July 14, 2024, sees this as his prime chance to secure the one major title missing from his international career.
In an interview with Sport Bild, Mbappe shared his excitement about the upcoming tournament and dismissed concerns over France’s 2-0 loss to Germany in a friendly on March 23, 2024.
“We’re coming to Germany to make history. That’s our mission. We’re prepared, we’re hungry for victory, and we know what we need to do. Bringing the cup home would be an incredible achievement for our country,” Mbappe said.
When asked about the prospect of facing Germany in the final, despite their recent defeat, Mbappe was enthusiastic. “I’d be thrilled with a France vs. Germany final. Friendly matches don’t matter! Seriously though, Germany has a fantastic team. They’re always a force to be reckoned with, especially when it counts. They always bounce back after setbacks.”
As Mbappe gears up for Euro 2024, fans eagerly anticipate whether he can lead France to glory and complete his collection of international trophies.
