Tiwa Savage has raised concerns about her safety, claiming that Davido’s actions pose a direct threat to her life.
The police are now investigating the petition filed by the Nigerian singer, with spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirming the initiation of the investigation on Wednesday in Lagos.
In the petition dated January 9, addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Adegoke Fayoade, Savage accused Davido of uttering disrespectful words in response to a post on Instagram involving herself and the singer’s Baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
She expressed disappointment at Davido’s threats and reminded him of her support during challenging times, especially when he lost his son.
Savage revealed that she received calls from mutual connections questioning her relationship with Sophia after the incident.
She emphasized that Davido’s actions were unethical and could be perceived as a direct threat to her rights to life, privacy, and dignity, as guaranteed in Chapter 4 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).
According to Savage, the situation feels like a form of online and offline harassment to her and her team.
In her statement, she highlighted the contravention of Section 24(2)(a) of the Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, 2015, and expressed her willingness to provide additional information if needed.
Tiwa Savage concluded by stating that if anything harmful were to happen to her or her family, she would like the Nigerian Police Force to hold Davido responsible. She is available for questions or additional information regarding the matter.
