Another Loss Hits Junior Pope’s Family As His Father Passes Away
Heartbreak has once again visited the family of late Nollywood star, Junior Pope, as his father, Ozor Luke Odonwodo, has passed on.
The sad news comes just a year after Junior Pope tragically died in a boat mishap in April 2024, while returning from a film shoot in Anambra State.
Jennifer Awele Odonwodo, the late actor’s widow, shared the update on Instagram, expressing her pain and disbelief. She revealed that she had visited her father-in-law in Enugu only a few weeks earlier, never imagining it would be their final time together.
In a heartfelt tribute, Jennifer described Ozor Luke as someone who truly cared for her. She spoke about his life, his sacrifices, and the love he showed to his family.
“Just a few weeks ago, I was with you in Enugu,” she wrote. “Then came that phone call from Reme—my mother-in-law—asking about the boys and me. Moments later, she broke the news… ‘My husband has gone to be with your husband.’ I screamed, then had to hold it together as she began to cry.”
She continued, “He was one of the few who genuinely loved me. He lived a long, fulfilling life, gave so much to those around him, and lived to see the fruits of his labour.”
Acknowledging how difficult the past year has been, Jennifer added, “Reme, this is a lot to bear. But I pray for strength—for you, for us all—to keep going even when it’s hard.”
She ended with words of faith and hope:
“Rest well, father and son. We miss you deeply and hold on to the hope of resurrection as promised in John 5:28-29 and Acts 24:15.”
