Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy is hopeful that Wilfred Ndidi’s recent injury won’t keep him sidelined for long.
Ndidi picked up a knock during Leicester’s 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, leading to his substitution by Oliver Skipp in the 52nd minute. The midfielder has dealt with injury setbacks in previous seasons, so the team is eager to ensure this doesn’t become a recurring issue.
“Whenever Wilf has to come off, it’s usually a sign of something serious, but I’m optimistic this time,” Van Nistelrooy shared after the match. “He felt a slight hamstring strain, and we’re hoping it’s nothing too significant. We’ll assess it carefully to help him recover quickly.”
The 27-year-old has been a key player for Leicester this season, making 15 league appearances and delivering solid performances.
In other football news, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has earned praise for his composure during the team’s dramatic 4-3 victory over Tottenham. Palmer’s Panenka penalty in the 84th minute sealed the win after an intense game that showcased incredible determination from both sides.
Tottenham initially took the lead with goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski. Chelsea’s response began with a goal from Jadon Sancho in the 17th minute, followed by a penalty earned by Moises Caicedo and converted by Palmer in the 61st minute. Argentine star Enzo Fernandez then put Chelsea ahead in the 73rd minute, with Palmer’s cool penalty ensuring the win. Although Tottenham’s Heung Min Son scored a late goal in stoppage time, Chelsea held firm.
Following the game, Palmer celebrated on Instagram with the caption “Chippy.” Chelsea icons Frank Lampard and John Terry showed their support, with Lampard commenting “Class” and adding blue heart emojis, while Terry joined in with enthusiastic emojis of his own.
