At Rolling Loud, there was a Young Money reunion.
On Day 2 of the festival in Inglewood, California, Lil Wayne brought out Nicki Minaj for a surprise performance. Weezy welcomed the queen for a medley of hits midway through his headlining set on Saturday night, beginning with “BedRock.”
“No need for an introduction, ladies and gentlemen. “The motherfu**in’ queen,” Wayne declared to the audience.
Nicki performed her “High School” collaboration with Wayne before launching into her chart-topping smash “Super Freaky Girl” and her brand new single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” pausing the song to ask why the instrumental was offbeat.

She recited one of the more contentious lyrics, which some have interpreted as a dig at Megan Thee Stallion: “Seven hundred on them horses when we fixing to leave / But I don’t f**k with horses since Christopher Reeves.”
Nicki was clearly irritated when the sound problems persisted during her performance of “Chun-Li,” followed by “Truffle Butter” with Weezy.
“This is the motherfu**in’ GOAT. Thank you very much. “I love you,” she said as she hugged her mentor.
Nicki later addressed the sound problems on Instagram, explaining that her vocals were mixed into the tracks. “I don’t perform with that backing track… My vocals appear to have been used in every song, which is disgusting. “You know I never,” she said. “There was a big mixup between our sound crew and Lil Wayne’s sound crew, and that was not acceptable.”

Nicki and Wayne had not performed together since Drake’s OVO Fest in Toronto last August.
Saturday’s Rolling Loud lineup also included Lil Baby, 2 Chainz, City Girls, and Travis Scott, who made a brief return to the stage. Don Toliver surprised the audience by bringing out Justin Bieber for the first time to perform “Private Landing,” their new collaboration.
