Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique has been crowned 2025 Men’s Coach of the Year (Johan Cruyff Trophy) at this year’s Ballon d’Or.
Enrique, who has reshaped PSG into a powerhouse both at home and in Europe, wasn’t at the ceremony—his team was in the middle of a fiery Ligue 1 battle against Marseille, trailing 1–0 with just 20 minutes left on the clock.
Since taking charge, his record has been nothing short of outstanding. Over the past year, he’s delivered five major trophies: Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions, the Champions League, and the UEFA Super Cup. Already named Ligue 1 Manager of the Year, Enrique now adds global recognition with the Johan Cruyff Trophy.
On the women’s side, England manager Sarina Wiegman picked up the Women’s Johan Cruyff Trophy. A figure admired worldwide, Wiegman has set the benchmark for excellence at both club and national level. Accepting her award, she reflected on the Dutch legend’s influence:
“This award means even more because it is named after Johan Cruyff. He believed in the power of sport and in giving every child the chance to play, grow, and belong. That’s why I feel so connected to him. Let’s keep uniting and enjoying our game—and if Burna Boy’s around, let’s celebrate with some dancing too.”

The night also belonged to Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG’s former goalkeeper now with Manchester City, who claimed the 2025 Yachine Trophy for best goalkeeper in the world. It’s the second time the Italian has won the award, having first lifted it in 2021.
