Maisie Williams has spoken out about how the popular HBO series Game of Thrones did not have a satisfying conclusion. After the show’s early seasons received widespread praise, the final six episodes, which aired in 2019, divided viewers.
The actress, who rose to fame as Arya Stark, revealed she recently re-watched the series with her brother. She also discussed her experience as a spectator at the show.
“You know, I recently rewatched it all. It did, indeed, fall off at the end.”
However, the actress went on to say that she thought Thrones had a fantastic start, adding, “But it started really strong.” I was heartbroken when Ned died, but I expected it. For the first time, I was able to feel the story
Williams is hardly the first Game of Thrones actor to publicly address the contentious series finale. Conleth Hill, who played spymaster Varys, has complained about how his character was presented in the later seasons.
In 2019, he stated, “That’s been my feeling the previous couple seasons—that my character became more incidental, that they focused more on others.” It’s all right. It’s inherent to shows with multiple characters. It was a little annoying.
Tyrion Lannister actor Peter Dinklage has been more supportive of the most recent season while downplaying audience complaints. He claimed in an interview that they desired attractive white individuals to ride off into the distance together.
It is, of course, fiction. Dragons are present. Moving on. This past weekend saw the premiere of The Black Queen, the season one finale of House of the Dragon’s companion program, days after it had been leaked online.
