“Marriage Isn’t My Priority Anymore” – Bisola Aiyeola Opens Up About Life, Love, and Letting Go
Bisola Aiyeola is choosing peace over pressure.
During a candid conversation on the Dear Ife podcast with Ifedayo Agoro, the actress and former reality star shared that marriage and motherhood are no longer on her must-do list.
At 39, Bisola says she’s found clarity about what truly matters to her—and chasing romance just isn’t one of them anymore. Instead, she’s focused on her well-being, financial independence, and evolving as a woman.
“I used to tell myself I wouldn’t have kids past a certain age. That age came and went,” she admitted with a calm honesty. “There’s no man in the picture, and I’ve made peace with it. I’m not anxiously waiting or wishing. I’ve gotten used to being on my own.”
That doesn’t mean she’s anti-love. In fact, she still believes in it deeply.
“Love is beautiful. It’s warm, sweet, and magical. But reality is different,” she said. “Marriage isn’t something I see as a must. If it comes, great. If not, that’s okay too.”
Her words hit differently in a society where women are often measured by their marital status. But for Bisola, fulfillment looks like something else now—freedom, growth, and self-acceptance.
“There are so many ways to live a meaningful life that don’t include walking down the aisle,” she said with a smile. “And I’m not desperate. Not anymore.”
With a grounded sense of self and a laugh that still lights up any room, Bisola reminds us that it’s okay to choose your own kind of happy—even if it doesn’t come with rings or baby bottles.
