West Ham United has bolstered their defense by signing Wolves captain Max Kilman in a deal worth £40 million. The 27-year-old centre-back inked a seven-year contract with the London club, bringing significant experience to their lineup.
Kilman, who debuted for Wolves in May 2019, has made 151 appearances for the team. His transfer to West Ham marks the club’s third acquisition of the summer, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and Brazilian winger Luis Guilherme.
Kilman’s transition to West Ham is expected to be smooth as he reunites with his former coach, Julen Lopetegui, who appointed him as Wolves captain in August 2023.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Kilman said, “It’s an amazing feeling to be a West Ham United player. As soon as I heard about the club’s interest, I was eager to join. I really enjoyed working with Julen at Wolves. He’s a top-class coach, and I learned a lot from him. I’m confident I will continue to grow as a player under his management here.”
