Toke Makinwa Clears the Air: “I Don’t Hate Men”
Media personality and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa has set the record straight — she’s not the man-hater many think she is. In fact, she describes herself as a hopeless romantic.
Toke shared her thoughts shortly after announcing that she’s expecting her first child. The 40-year-old revealed that she had prayed to become a mother before turning 40, and in December — just a month after her milestone birthday — her prayers were answered.
Opening up about her journey, she also spoke on private battles she had faced, including a period of depression that the public never knew about.
“People think I bash men or hate men. That’s never been the truth. I’m a hopeless romantic. No one knew I was depressed or why I held that thanksgiving service. I told God I wanted to be a mum by 40. I turned 40 in November, and by December, it happened. He never fails — just not always the way we expect,” she shared.
