According to authorities in northern Burkina Faso, approximately 60 civilians were killed in the village of Karma, near the border with Mali.
A local prosecutor said he learned about the attack on Friday and that it was carried out by people dressed in army uniforms. He has requested information.
According to survivors, more than 100 people on motorcycles and pick-up trucks raided the village.
An attack on the Burkinabe army and volunteer forces occurred in the same region, near Ouahigouya, earlier last week, killing around 40 people and injuring more than 30.
Since Islamist militants began operating in the area in 2015, thousands have been killed.
