Mo Abudu Brings Culture and Class to Lagos Canvas
When Mo Abudu steps out, elegance follows—and her appearance at the 3rd edition of Lagos Canvas last night was no different. Hosting the Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, at EbonyLife Place in Victoria Island, she showed up in a look that effortlessly merged tradition with modern flair.
Her outfit? A sleeveless brocade dress in deep gold and brown, covered in bold, artful prints that paid homage to African design. The fitted bodice flared out into a graceful skirt, balancing structure with movement. She paired it with classic black tights and glittering pumps, adding a subtle touch of drama. Gold bracelets stacked on her wrist, rings that sparkled under the lights, and soft, flowing waves completed the look. It was chic, striking, and unmistakably Mo.
The evening itself was vibrant—a celebration of African brilliance across music, film, fashion, and visual arts. Mo and Sir Sadiq Khan co-hosted the event, which drew a crowd of bold faces and creative minds. Among the guests were Kate Henshaw, a glowing Akin Faminu (freshly engaged), Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Toyosi Etim-Effiong, Sasha P, Genoveva Umeh, and many others.
Calling the event “unforgettable” in her recap post, Mo’s pride in the night—and her culture—was clear. And that stunning dress? It said just as much as her words did.
