Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman to Miss Champions League Match
Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman will not be available for selection when Atalanta faces FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday due to a knee injury sustained during training.
Lookman’s absence will be a significant blow for Atalanta as they prepare for the critical clash with Barcelona. His injury could lead to tactical adjustments from the team’s manager, Gian Piero Gasperini.
The 27-year-old Nigeria international has been a key contributor to Atalanta’s Champions League campaign, with four goals and two assists across six matches.
Atalanta currently holds 7th place in the standings, just one point ahead of Bayer Leverkusen. A victory over Barcelona, currently in 2nd place, would secure their spot in the round of 16, while a loss could drop them to the playoffs.
