Myles Lewis-Skelly is set to extend his stay at Arsenal, as the promising young defender has reached an agreement on a new long-term deal with the club.
At just 18, Lewis-Skelly has quickly become one of the most exciting names to emerge from Arsenal’s academy. While his current contract runs until 2026, discussions have been ongoing, and the BBC reports that both parties have now settled on the terms of a fresh extension that will keep him at the Emirates well beyond his existing deal. Though not yet officially signed, the agreement marks a major step in his evolving journey.
The 2023–2024 season was a breakout year for Lewis-Skelly. After starting out as a midfielder, he made his senior debut in September against Manchester City and has since adapted remarkably well to a new role at left-back—showcasing maturity, pace, and versatility.
His impact didn’t stop at club level. In March, Lewis-Skelly earned a call-up to the England senior team and made an unforgettable debut, scoring in a 2–0 win over Albania at Wembley. The goal made him the youngest player in history to score on their senior debut for the Three Lions.
In recognition of his standout performances, he was recently nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year award, joining a talented shortlist that includes Morgan Rogers, Liam Delap, Dean Huijsen, Milos Kerkez, and fellow Arsenal prospect Ethan Nwaneri.
With a new deal on the horizon and a growing reputation, Lewis-Skelly looks firmly on track to become a key figure in Arsenal’s future.
