Timi Dakolo has once again addressed Pastor Femi Lazarus’ claims about high fees charged by gospel singers invited to minister at events.
During a recent sermon, Pastor Lazarus shared an alleged invoice showing a gospel artist requesting $10,000, a first-class flight, an executive suite, and a 50% non-refundable deposit, among other demands.
He stated, “Some ministers won’t charge big pastors because they need endorsements. But they make heavy demands elsewhere. Those who truly know God won’t operate this way.”
Reacting to this, Dakolo dismissed the claims, urging Nigerians not to believe everything they see. “Nobody in Nigeria moves around with a 40-man crew. Name the artist if you’re so sure,” he said.
This isn’t the first time Dakolo has challenged Pastor Lazarus’ stance. Earlier in March, he spoke out against the idea that gospel singers should perform for free, arguing that ministry and music go hand in hand. “Churches spend millions on architecture and promotion, so why should gospel artists be treated differently?” he questioned.
