Elon Musk is being attacked by Nancy Pelosi for spreading rumors about the Paul Pelosi attack on his recently acquired social media company. damagingly referring to the new Twitter owner
The Speaker of the House sat down for an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, and when Anderson questioned her about prominent people spreading false information about the attack on her husband, she attacked Elon and former President Donald Trump.
Nancy referred to the explosive tweet Elon wrote and later deleted—the one in which Elon implied there might be more going on than first appears, and included a link to a sketchy website with a lewd headline about Paul and his assailant.
The fact that public figures like Musk and Trump “distance themselves from the facts and the reality in such a transparent way,” she said, is “very sad for the country.”
On the eve of an election where people are worried that false information could affect the results at the polls, CNN aired the interview on Monday night.
Nancy claims that Elon’s actions are “damaging” to the national unity she believes is taking place, but she says she has nothing to personally say to Musk or Trump because they have “nothing in common.”
Speaker Pelosi was extremely upset as she described how she first learned about the attack and provided an update on Paul’s recuperation from being attacked by a hammer-wielding man who broke into their San Francisco home in search of Nancy and intended to break her kneecaps.
Nancy claims that she and Paul are struggling to deal with the attack’s devastation and that spreading false information about it just makes their suffering worse.
