Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North Senatorial District, has spoken out following a viral video showing his wife, actress Regina Daniels, in visible distress.
In a statement shared on Instagram alongside a short clip, the senator described Regina’s recent actions as troubling, claiming they were influenced by substance abuse. He expressed deep concern over her wellbeing, saying she needs to continue with rehabilitation or risk serious consequences.
“Regina was not always like this. Her struggle with drugs and alcohol is at the root of our issues. She must continue her rehabilitation, or I fear for her safety,” he wrote.

Nwoko alleged that in his absence, Regina became violent, attacking three members of staff and damaging property. According to him, she has since moved to a place where she has “unrestricted access to drugs,” and he has insisted on rehab — either in Abuja or abroad — to help her recover.
He further claimed that some close associates have been enabling her addiction, mentioning two individuals he believes are supplying her.
The situation gained public attention after a video surfaced over the weekend showing Regina in a heated outburst. In the clip, she said, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence; it’s too much.”
Shortly after, her brother, Ojeogwu Danhillman — known as Sammy West — responded via Instagram, accusing the senator of being violent toward his sister and vowing to protect her.
So far, Regina and her team have not released an official statement regarding the claims.
This is not the first time the couple’s relationship has drawn public attention. Earlier in the year, actress Chika Ike denied rumors suggesting a connection between her pregnancy and Nwoko, calling them false. In March, Nwoko also dismissed rumors of marital issues and reaffirmed his commitment to Regina, announcing at the time that they were expecting another child.

The pair married in 2019 when Regina was 18. They share two sons together.
Regina, who began her acting career as a child in Marriage in Sorrow (2007), has featured in over a hundred Nollywood productions, including Miracle Child, Python Girl, and Queen Rebecca.
Senator Nwoko, a lawyer by profession, studied law at Keele University and was called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn before returning to Nigeria in 1998 to begin his political career.
