Ned Nwoko Denies Viral Rumours About Alleged New Wife
Nigerian senator Ned Nwoko has addressed the viral video of a young woman whom social media users falsely claimed to be his new wife.
The speculation began amid ongoing rumours about tension in his marriage with actress Regina Daniels. Setting the record straight, the Delta North senator described the claims as completely untrue and without any basis.
According to Nwoko, the lady in question had simply visited him with her team as part of the Peace Ambassadors Initiative led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule. He explained that the photos and videos shared online were taken during an official courtesy visit, just like many others he regularly receives in his public capacity.
He expressed disappointment over how easily such harmless interactions are twisted online for attention, warning that spreading false stories could lead to legal consequences under Nigeria’s Cybercrime Act of 2015.
“It’s unfortunate how social media turns simple moments into false headlines,” Nwoko said. “During official visits, guests often take pictures — that’s normal. But turning that into a marriage story is malicious and misleading.”
He further emphasized that he has no personal relationship with the woman featured in the video and urged the public not to believe such fabrications.
Nwoko concluded by cautioning blogs and individuals to stop circulating false information, stressing that continued publication of these misleading stories would attract legal action.
