Laila Charani, the fifth wife of Senator Ned Nwoko, has publicly accused her estranged co-wife, actress Regina Daniels, of introducing her to drugs.
In a series of posts on Instagram, Charani claimed that she nearly lost her marriage to Nwoko six years ago because of Regina’s influence. She dismissed the actress’s earlier claim that she had ever given her money, suggesting instead that both of them should show their bank accounts to prove who truly provides for whom.
Laila also alleged that Regina’s ongoing conflict with Nwoko stems from his insistence that she address what he sees as a drug and alcohol problem. According to Charani, Nwoko has always made it clear that he would not tolerate a wife who smokes, drinks, or uses drugs.
She wrote:
“How dare you say that you ever gave me money? For what exactly? I am content with what my husband provides for our family. Let’s show Nigerians our bank accounts and see who is really paying into whose.
You also know that my husband completely opposes alcohol, drugs, and smoking. He has always said he would never accept a wife with these habits. The only reason you are fighting him is because he wants you to address your alleged drug and alcohol use.
You know very well that I almost lost my marriage when you introduced me to drugs six years ago. My husband’s intervention saved me from that path. Since then, you have been a bad influence, even allegedly giving drugs to staff and family members. That’s why I cannot trust my daughters around you unsupervised. It’s time you seek help and sort yourself out.”
The accusations add another chapter to the ongoing tensions within the Nwoko family, drawing significant attention on social media.
