The TV host has learned from his past mistakes.
Nick Cannon has been through a lot in the last few years, but he’s not giving up. The media mogul opened up about the 2020 anti-Semitic comments he made on his podcast, Cannon’s Class, in a recent interview with AllHipHop, and how he’s been working to make amends.
“That process was a growth moment for me as a man on so many levels,” Cannon said. “Even now, I and the ADL’s CEO, Jonathan Greenblatt, have a podcast called Solutions: To Hate or Not to Hate. And it’s really about the intersection of our two communities from two different points of view. We present our perspective as Black men, and he presents his perspective as a Jewish man.”
Communication, according to Nick, is essential for overcoming hatred and prejudice. “Just that is beneficial and educational for both communities,” he said. “We can sit here and be enraged, but what are we really doing if we don’t engage if we can’t even learn from one another?”

Nick has learned about the power of communication
Cannon was fired from ViacomCBS after a video of his podcast Cannon’s Class went viral. While speaking with Professor Griff of Public Enemy fame, the former rapper made some anti-Semitic remarks. However, he was reinstated by the media conglomerate in 2021 after making efforts to make amends with the Jewish community.
“Nick has not only apologized and accepted responsibility for his comments, but he has also worked to educate himself and others through engagement with Jewish leaders and on his platforms,” according to an MTV Entertainment Group spokesperson.
Cannon has learned a lot about himself and the power of communication as a result of it all: “Ultimately, nobody’s monolithic, but we’re all one organism that allows this thing to keep pumping,” he says.
