Nicki Minaj Shares Intense Recording Process for Lil Uzi Vert’s “Pink Tape” Album.
In the early hours of Friday, Nicki Minaj provided fans with a glimpse behind the scenes of her arduous recording session for Lil Uzi Vert’s latest album, “Pink Tape.” Taking to Twitter shortly after the album’s release, Minaj revealed that she dedicated a grueling 10-hour stretch to perfecting her verse on the track titled “Endless Fashion,” wrapping it up just in the nick of time.
Throughout this demanding process, Minaj candidly admitted to repeatedly requesting extra time from Uzi while assuring him of her punctual delivery. “I started at 8 a.m. and finished around 5 p.m.,” she confessed, highlighting the immense effort that left her feeling drained. With a touch of humor, she recalled how she initially promised Uzi a quick 30-minute turnaround, only to check in with him two hours later, asking for an additional 15-20 minutes. “I did that ALL DAY LONG, YO!” Minaj reminisced.
Fortunately, their collaboration successfully met the deadline, marking their third musical endeavor together following their previous work on Meek Mill’s “Froze” and the 2017 remix of Uzi’s “The Way Life Goes.”
Girl I started @ 8am & finished like 5pm. When I tell you I was exhausted by the time I was done. Lol. B/c I was rushing to get it in on time. I kept telling him “30 mins” then hitting him back 2 hours later TB 15-20 more minutes Uzi!!!! 😩I did that ALL DAY LONG YO 🤣 https://t.co/93sm8Mgy3J

In her impactful verse, the talented artist from Queens confidently asserts, “Ayo, even if my name was Natalie, none of these ladies could ever challenge me.” She cleverly pays homage to Natalie Nunn from “Bad Girls Club” while also showcasing her own fashion prowess. Name-dropping renowned designer labels, she effortlessly states, “That’s word to Chanel, nothing new to see, other girls on TV imitating me. Harajuku Barbie, Roman Zolanski, from Red Ruby to Chun-Li. I rocked Fendi door knocker earrings (Oh), then adorned the Burberry trench coat.”
During a recent Billboard interview at the 2023 BET Awards, Lil Uzi Vert acknowledged their shared fashion influences, including A$AP Rocky and others. With a playful remark about his own style, he confidently stated, “These days, I’m even more fly than A$AP Rocky. He can’t match up to me anymore… He knows I have those exclusive pieces tucked away, but shoutout to Flacko, though.”
