The main city of Awka in Nigeria’s south-eastern Anambra state is quiet. This is a stronghold for Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate who finished third with 25% in the presidential election.
People in the state where Mr. Obi, a wealthy businessman, has served two terms as governor, go about their daily lives.
But beneath the surface, there is dissatisfaction with the outcome of last Saturday’s election.
Many people I’ve spoken with have expressed their dissatisfaction with the electoral commission and what they perceive to be a fraudulent electoral process.
