The last two hostages from a group of people kidnapped from a train station in the state almost two weeks ago have been released, according to authorities in Edo state in southern Nigeria.
Seven other suspects, including two village chiefs, have been apprehended and are being held by police.
On January 7, twenty people were kidnapped from the Igueben train station by armed men.
Six victims were freed within 48 hours, and a further 12 victims were rescued over the weekend by security forces and armed vigilantes in a separate rescue operation.
Kidnapping for ransom is common on Nigerian roads, and there are fears that criminals may be targeting the country’s railways.
