The Nigeria Police Force has launched an investigation following the circulation of a viral video featuring actress Angela Okorie jogging while flanked by armed police officers.
In a statement shared on Wednesday via its official X account, police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi expressed the Force’s disapproval of the scene, describing it as inappropriate and out of step with the professional conduct expected from officers.
“The use of armed officers in that context clearly falls short of the standards and discipline we expect from our personnel,” the statement read. The video, which appears to have been filmed around what some suspect is a movie location, quickly drew public attention and backlash online.
Adejobi added that internal procedures have already begun to identify the officers and assess the full story behind the clip. Once investigations are complete, necessary disciplinary measures will be taken based on their findings.
So far, Angela Okorie has remained silent on the matter.
