President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reiterated his commitment to equitable development initiatives nationwide, particularly focusing on road infrastructure during a gathering with New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters in Ejisu on April 28, 2024.
Highlighting his decisive role in road construction projects across Ghana, the president addressed concerns about road development, especially in Ejisu following the passing of the Member of Parliament, John Kumah.
He emphasized his authority in approving road construction projects, stating that no road in Ghana can be constructed without his permission. Akufo-Addo affirmed the NPP’s governance until January 7th, emphasizing the importance of having an NPP Member of Parliament to advance development agendas.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, urged constituents in Ejisu to support the NPP candidate in the upcoming by-election, cautioning against voting for an independent candidate, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, which he equated to supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Bawumia stressed the significance of party loyalty and unity, considering the NPP’s slim majority in parliament. He emphasized the need for every vote to secure a stronger mandate for the ruling party, underscoring the importance of retaining the NPP’s slight majority in Parliament.
