The opposition Labour Party of Nigeria plans to file a legal challenge to the governing APC’s presidential election victory of Bola Tinubu.
Peter Obi of Labour finished third in Saturday’s vote.
The opposition claims the results were rigged and is calling for new elections.
Only 28% of eligible Nigerian voters cast ballots. Some voters were unable to vote due to malfunctioning voting machines.
Mr. Tinubu received 37% of the votes cast, a smaller margin of victory than previous Nigerian presidents.
According to European Union election observers, there were significant flaws in the electoral process, and there was vote-buying, but it was too early to say how widespread this was.
