Offset Reflects on His Marriage to Cardi B: “I Should’ve Respected Her More”
Offset is opening up about the mistakes he made in his relationship with Cardi B and how he’s come to terms with them.
During an appearance on Baby, This is Keke Palmer on Tuesday (Oct. 7), the rapper spoke candidly about his shortcomings and the lessons he learned from their high-profile marriage.
“I was definitely not perfect in the situation,” Offset admitted. “I made a lot of mistakes — things I did wrong that I had to look in the mirror and own.” He acknowledged that being in the public eye made everything harder for both of them, with their personal struggles often playing out on social media for the world to see.
Still, he didn’t shy away from taking full responsibility. “I should’ve respected her way more,” he confessed. “I made bad decisions as a man, like stepping out. When she left, I had to take that on the chin. I was being selfish, and I can say that now as a grown man.”
Dealing with Public Pressure
Offset also opened up about how the constant online chatter affected his mental space. “I done got out of pocket a couple of times because, bro, you feel like you’re getting bullied,” he said. “Sometimes, the narrative gets nasty, and I used to stay quiet — but now, I feel like I have to defend myself.”
Despite the drama, he made it clear that he’s learning from his past. His tone throughout the interview reflected accountability, maturity, and a sense of closure.
The End of an Era
Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset again in 2024 while she was expecting their third child, bringing years of on-and-off headlines to a breaking point. Though the divorce hasn’t been finalized yet, Offset shared that he’s ready “for it to be over with” and to move forward with his life.
The former couple welcomed their daughter, Blossom, in September 2024, before eventually parting ways for good. Meanwhile, Cardi has reportedly moved on and is expecting another child with NFL star Stefon Diggs.
A Look Back
While their love story was full of highs and lows, Offset’s recent reflections suggest that he’s taking accountability and choosing growth. His openness offers a rare, honest glimpse into the complexities of fame, love, and learning from the past.
