Jonathan Greenblatt, CEO of the Anti-Defamation League, criticized former President Trump’s words today, calling them threatening and said that American Jews need to “get their act together” to demonstrate support for Israel “before it’s too late.” On CNN, Greenblatt said the things. Trump implied that he should also feel grateful for him.
No President has done more for Israel than I have, Trump claimed Friday on social media, possibly alluding to his choice to relocate the American Embassy to Jerusalem. Surprisingly, though, those of the Evangelical faith is significantly more grateful for this than those of the Jewish faith.
On CNN, Greenblatt responded to Trump by saying, “At this time, Jewish people feel under siege, and when the former president of the United States makes, if you will, an unveiled threat, don’t excuse it by harkening back to policy things you may have done years before.”
“A more significant trend is underway. People feel like they are being attacked and hemmed in from all sides. It’s quite unsettling. Because of this, Greenblatt said on CNN’s “New Day,” “when the President says ‘before it’s too late,’ it sounds like a threat in a situation where Jews already feel threatened.
“When [Trump] says ‘Before it's too late,’ it sounds like a threat in an environment where Jews already feel threatened.”

Trump stated on Sunday that he has done more for Israel than any other president. Unexpectedly, however, Jews, especially those who reside in the United States, are significantly less appreciative of this than our lovely Evangelicals who are. But for those who reside in Israel, it’s a different matter. The most popular person in the world is probably PM! Before it’s too late, American Jews must organize themselves and recognize how fortunate they are to live in Israel.
Greenblatt retorted in a hurry, saying, “We don’t need the previous president, who curry favor with radicals and antisemites, to lecture us about the US-Israel relationship. It is based on shared values and security concerns rather than on a return for anything in return. This “Jewsplaining” is abhorrent and disrespectful.
We don't need the former president, who curries favor with extremists and antisemites, to lecture us about the US-Israel relationship. It is not about a quid pro quo; it rests on shared values and security interests. This "Jewsplaining" is insulting and disgusting. pic.twitter.com/5XihxQGmLT
