As protests rage in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, one person has been shot at a market near the Kibera slum.
According to Ferdinand Omondi, traders are yelling at him that he is a mechanic, not a protester. According to reports, a police officer fired at him.
The injured person was transported to the hospital on a motorcycle.

Raila Odinga, the opposition leader, enjoys fervent support in the region.
It happens amid the heavy presence of security officers throughout the city.
Access to some city roads has been restricted to keep people from congregating.
The opposition has called for mass protests against rising living costs and what they call an illegitimate presidency.
