Tems, a Nigerian singer, made her Oscars debut on Sunday and was chastised on social media for her outfit, which blocked the view of other attendees.
Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, was nominated for Best Original Song for the track Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Her white gown, which wrapped around her head, was slammed after a screenshot showed a guest craning his neck to get a better view of the stage.
Many on social media criticized the singer for being “rude”.

Lessja Verlingieri of Lever Couture, a Ukrainian-born fashion designer, created Tem’s gown.
The singer won a Grammy in February for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her contribution to the hit song Wait for U, which she co-wrote with Future and Drake.
