Smash, one half of the music duo Bracket, has shared his thoughts on the long-standing rift between P-Square’s Peter and Paul Okoye.
Speaking on the AFRIMMA Podcast alongside his partner Vast, Smash suggested that what tore the brothers apart runs deeper than ordinary disagreements. In his words, their fallout carries a spiritual undertone.
He recalled a conversation with Paul where the singer admitted that the tension between him and his twin didn’t feel normal. Despite being closer to Paul, Smash noted that he often visits Peter too, and their conversations remain open and respectful.
For Smash, the feud is heartbreaking, especially given how inseparable the brothers once were. He reflected on how the duo, alongside their elder brother Jude, poured their hearts into building the P-Square brand with love and passion.
“I’m closer to Paul than Peter, but I go to Peter’s house often and he listens to me whenever I speak to him. Honestly, if you ask me as someone who’s seen it up close, I’ll say the problem is spiritual,” Smash revealed.
“The last time I met Paul, I told him the issue with his brother wasn’t normal, that it was spiritual, and he agreed. If you knew how close they were and how much effort they put into their work, you’d feel bad seeing how things have turned out. Paul, Peter, and Jude truly loved that brand with all their hearts.”
